Propulsion Line Management System
The most obvious component of the Propulsion Line Management System is the new Propulsion spool lip design. Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations it has been determined that this new spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming. It also allows the line to flow off of the spool in smaller loops during the cast which means less slap on the stripper guide. This means longer casts with less friction.

The Propulsion spool also utilizes a long stroke design to further enhance the casting distance. Furthermore, there is less bouncing of the line on the spool lip like on a standard spinning spool. Because of the unique shape of the Propulsion spool, the line flows consistently off of the spool. So, with a standard spool, friction alternates from heavy to light as the line slaps the spool lip. This causes backlash and inconsistent line speeds. The Propulsion spool lip provides consistently light friction to overcome these situations.

S-Concept
S-Concept represents Shimano's initial philosophy on which many of our spinning reel have been designed. The three basic ideas that are inherent in the S-Concept are Smooth, Silent and Strong.

Smooth rotation and comfortable retrieve, coupled with excellent drag performance and longer casting distance, leads to our smooth, flawless operation.

Super Stopper II
Super Stopper II anti-reverse uses a one-way bearing that eliminates backplay. This provides the angler with instant hooksetting power. In some reels, the Super Stopper II can be turned off to allow backreeling for special techniques and situations.

Dyna-Balance
This feature eliminates wobble during the retrieve by counter balancing the rotor to enhance sensitivity and smoothness. By using computer balancing, an approach similar to car tire balancing, we are able to redistribute the rotor weight to create smooth rotation and eliminate vibrations caused by the reel.

Fluidrive
Fluidrive brings the highest tolerances and utmost control in the gear cutting process, which provides the angler a smooth, powerful retrieve.

Amazon.com comes through once again. Got a great price on this saltwater reel w/ prompt FREE delivery. The reel arrived brand new.

So far so good with this baby. Have it filled w/ 20lb. power pro braid and matched up w/ the TICA 9'Dolphin surf rod. I primarily fish 4" and 5" swim baits. This reel is smooth as can be and can cast a mile. Only owned for a couple of months, but am very impressed so far.

Would highly recommend this product.

I am somewhat of a "gear junkie" and like most guys I really enjoy getting a new toy so with that thought in mind I set out to the store to buy a new reel.I have tried reels from almost every manufacturer and over the years I have settled on Shimano as the only brand I can always depend on to get the job done.Just about any reel will work if you are fishing for trout or other smaller fish but when you are going after a larger more powerful fish like steelhead or chinook salmon you need a reel that can handle the powerful runs of these fish. These reels are nice for those that want a good real but don't want to pay the big bucks for the extra stuff that only the true pros can enjoy about a reel. The discs are large enough to take a strong run yet still smooth under load. The handel is crank mounted so there no added play to worry about. It's also quite easy to switch RL. It's a long stroke for more line with a smoother cast.

I have been useing their 6730 (small) for quite a while for every kind of fish I can catch in my part of the world. The most impressive was a 6.65 lb large mouth I hooked on 4lb test in less then 4 feet of water near some fell trees. As soon as I felt the pull I knew I had a nice one. This was a true real world test of the drag and line feed. It took me nearly ten minutes to get it In while chaseing it in the jhon boat. The Pflueger 6725 is an excellent ultra-light reel. I recently had the opportunity to go trout fishing on a private lake for some Nice cutthroat trout fishing and test my new reel in the field. I mated my Pflueger reel with a St.Croix Triumph series TRS56ULF2 5'6" Ultra-light 2 piece rod. The system is balanced nicely and you can cast all day with minimum arm fatigue. Penn has made a very solid reel in the Slammer Series. However there is one design flaw, that depending on how you fish, might be a dealbreaker. I fish from the surf, not from a boat, and as a result my reels are often soaked by waves. The drag on the Penn Slammer, when it gets wet, becomes useless... basically it sticks to itself, then gets very loose, then sticks... not smooth like it operates when dry. As a result this reel is all but useless to me. Fishing from a boat, you may not have any issues with it at all. But for me, it's a dealbreaker.

This is my second Trio, but my first of the high speed "s" models, and so far I love it! I use it mainly for ocean fishing in the southern California waters. The drag is super smooth and the reel feels solid through and through. Kinda wish the handle had a larger or more durable feeling material, but this is a vey minor gripe. I highly recommend this reel for ~30lb braided line.
Also Okuma customer service has been great in the past with previous equipment I've bought from them.

These two were purchased to be part of a light weight, heavy duty rig for all day bay fishing for specks and reds. I am pairing them to two American Rodsmiths H3 Titanium Ultra ML 7' Med/Light Trout Special with the recoil guides. I just got the reels in today and I must say that I think this will be a great setup. The reel feels light, but stout and well put together. I think that you would be well served by buying this reel. I cannot wait to go tear up the bays!
